Well friend, change is in the air.
I'm officially closing a pretty significant chapter of my life, and it feels poignant to share this news with you as we transition through the Spring Equinox and welcome the fresh energy of Spring into our lives.
Last week, I released the final interview on the Psychedelic Leadership Podcast, featuring a conversation with Marc Aixala, the author of Psychedelic Integration: Psychotherapy for Non-Ordinary States of Consciousness.
You might be wondering why I'm closing the chapter on Psychedelic Leadership, especially considering the success of the show.
Well, there's a lot I could say about this, but to sum it up as succinctly as possible:
I've simple outgrown "Psychedelic Leadership" as a personal brand.
The name itself has become a limiting factor in my personal and professional growth and it's simply not resonating for me anymore.
Said another way, I've come to realize that the "frame" of Psychedelic Leadership is just too narrow, and it's preventing me from reaching a wider audience with my core message.
Given the state of our world right now, I feel deeply committed to amplifying my impact, inspiring as many people as possible to radically transform their lives, wake up to greater possibilities, and re-imagine a new way of living on this earth.
Yes, psychedelics and sacred plant medicines will always be part of that conversation and a central part of my (higher end) offerings, but in terms of my public-facing brand, it's time psychedelic-focused content moves into a more supportive, rather than leading role.
About a year ago, I felt a shift coming – a refinement of my inner vision and prayer for my life.
Like many of you, I turn to the wisdom of my medicine teachers for council, clarity, insight, and guidance.
During a series of solo medicine journeys, this is the essence of what kept coming through:
Solely focusing on psychedelics misses the point; what you do with your life after the ceremony comes to an end...that's the point.
(I'm not saying this is true for anyone else, just as it pertains to me and my legacy work.)
After those journeys, I immediately started implementing the insights and clear visions I received, and in the past 9 months, my audience has grown significantly.
To be clear, it is not about the numbers or the metrics; it's about this feeling I have deep in my bones that I'm meant to inspire (dare I say) millions of people.
I have carried this feeling with me ever since I was about five years old, and it's this feeling that is calling me forward yet again into the great unknown.
As I expand what I believe is possible, I am reinventing myself and my brand to mirror that growth and meet myself at a new level I previously thought impossible.
I see the online growth of my audience as a reflection, a sign that I am not leaping in vain but accurately listening to the whisper within my heart and intentionally stepping into deeper alignment with my divine assignment.
We often talk about growth and "leveling up," but the one thing that rarely gets mentioned in that conversation is what you need to be willing to let go of in the process.
As the saying goes: your new life will cost you your old one.
From that perspective, I remind myself to let go and have the courage to loosen my grip over anything I've created up until this point.
We are living in the era of reinvention and we would be wise not to allow our identities to get too caught up in the things we create, but rather focus on the meaning we make through the process of creating it.
Because purpose isn't what you do, it's not the end result of what you create, it's who you become in the process of creating it and how that creation impacts the lives of those around you.
I'm reminded of one of my favorite quotes by Mark Nepo, from his incredibly inspiring book Drinking from the River of Light:
"What more can any of us ask for but to be created by the very thing we feel compelled to create? This is where the holy work of efforts leads, regardless of its trail."
From my perspective, there's nothing more meaningful than devoting my life to following that trail, sparked by curiosity, regardless of where it leads.
As I'm sure you've gathered, the closing of this chapter is just the opening of a new one.
I'm refocusing on my weekly newsletter as my home base for content creation, renaming it:
Becoming Transilient
The concept of Transilience (embodying transformation resilience) is simply that wider frame; a bigger container to hold space for the broader range of topics I feel deeply inspired to write about.
Because we all know we are standing at a crossroads facing a stark reality: perpetuating "business as usual" rooted in disconnection, division and dysfunction is no longer an option.
We have entered a new era that is fraught with extremely complex and interconnected challenges (now referred to as the polycrisis) yet also teeming with potential and possibility.
The central question we all need to be asking ourselves is this:
Who do I need to become, and in what ways do I need to transform my mind, my perception of reality, and the way I'm living my life in order to contribute to a more harmonious chapter of human history?
Becoming Transilient is for those of you are not only willing to ask this question but courageous enough to step on the path and walk it.
Walking this path requires learning and adopting new skillsets and mindsets, ones that we haven't been taught.
Every week, you will receive actionable insights and learn the "future proof" skills that will allow you to flourish through times of increasing complexity and uncertainty, and enable you to contribute in profoundly meaningful ways that are deeply fulfilling.
What more can any of us ask for at a time like this?
One thing I know to be true is that the world is changing faster than any of us can fully comprehend.
Are you ready for what's coming?
By taking the time to read Becoming Transilient each week, you will be investing in your greatest asset – your future self.
Each newsletter is intended to plant a seed of positive change in the fertile soil of your mind and heart, and before you know it, we will all be looking out over the beautiful, lush gardens we have collectively created, sharing the fruits of our devotion with each other in joy and celebration.
Who's with me?
The first issue of Becoming Transilient is coming your way soon.
In the meantime, I highly recommend listening to this final conversation on the Psychedelic Leadership Podcast featuring Marc Aixala as we Deep Dive into the topic of Psychedelic Integration.
From my inspired heart to yours, Laura Dawn 🫶🏽
